Michael Jordan was arguably playing his best basketball ahead of the 1992-1993 NBA season. Having won his second straight championship and MVP award, he closed the summer out with a gold medal in the Olympic Games in Barcelona. That season the Bulls went all the way to the finals once more, this time Jordan was wearing the Jordan 8 Playoffs which released earlier that season. He battled the Phoenix Suns in a six-game series in which he averaged a finals record 41 points per game. The Bulls made history and completed their first 3-peat.
